Just that we are supposed to trust your judgement that it was Sparta's fault. I too am a long time Atari, Sparta, and Mac/65 user. My experiences do not cooincide with yours. So if you don't mind, I will trust my own experience over yours for now. If you could track down the supposed faulty code in Sparta, or at least determine a way to duplicate the problem that would be a good step. You have done neither. arry, if you haven't even figured out how to dupilcate the problem then your "problem tracing" surely hasn't gone as far as you like to imply. have been using various versions of Sparta since about '84 or '85, I have never had the problems you describe. Neither has others that I have known personally. Of course I actually bought the software so I got full docs. Sometimes people make serious operator errors without full knowledge of the docs. 'm beginning to wonder if you have full docs Larry. I'm not accusing here, just really wondering. If you do have the docs, please tell me which booklets you have from which products. Cheers, Jon .. I prefer it over Mydos except it does not support sub-directories (for hard drives). There was supposed to be a TOP-ODS Professional that did but I never got that one. TOP-DOS does support command files (like batch files) and has neat featurs like a memory monitor (you can make changes from the editor). It is memory intensive, however, depending on how many drives are recognized and how many modules are installed at lomem (Happy Warp speed, Wise density, Atari 2.5 read enhanced, etc.) -- PorTal 0.62 <+> RAccess 1.11 ÄRTÜ * TEXTPRO 5.20 * The world's finest off-line reader and editor. --- FreeMail 1.09 * Origin: The -< Bejue >- Bbs (Node 2) * Zmodem for the Atari! Yes.. Actually the versions already out are beta versions. I have no idea if an official debugged 1.0 version (or thereafter) was completed, with working capture and transfer options. As far as taking ANSI data and making pics and drawing them with the 8-bit, I have no information on that. If some kind soul would look up this info and send me a file or posting on how to decode ANSI graphics (and the likenesses of the characters...) I would try something like that. A program to take ANSI data files and create a graphics 15 or Gr.8 picture based on it. But it seems those people are looking for a fast buck by charging outrageous rip-off prices for these collectibles. I got what I have from a used book store - Approximately 30 magazines for little over 90 cents an issue! About $20 or so. I mean $5 an issue is reasonable, but not $15 or higher.
